École Argyle Secondary
North Vancouver School District
Argyle Scholarships and Bursaries

All scholarship information, including the application form, is available on the Scholarship Information Grad 2024 Microsoft Team, which all grade 12's have been added to.

Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. To be considered for an Argyle award, students should be enrolled in a minimum of 7 courses, including Career Life Connections 12 (except for Peak Performers). All applicants must be in grade 12 for the first time, be eligible to graduate, and be a Canadian citizen or Landed Immigrant. Academic achievement, citizenship, leadership, extracurricular involvement, and school and community service &/or employment by students will be considered in determining winners. Priority will be given to students who have been at Argyle for at least 2 years.

Argyle awards are made available through the generosity of clubs, businesses and individuals and have different criteria.  By submitting a completed Argyle Scholarship application form students will be considered for all the awards that pertain to them.

The availability and value of Argyle awards may change between the posting of this information and the presentation of the awards at the graduation ceremony in May. The Argyle Scholarship Committee (consisting of teachers, counsellors, and administrators) will determine the recipients of these awards based on information provided in the application. Each student will normally receive no more than one Argyle award, and it is not necessary to apply for each award separately.

With the exception of the Dogwood District/Authority Awards each student will normally receive a maximum of one Argyle award. Please read the scholarship booklet, which is located on the Scholarship MS Team, carefully. Contact Ms. Malone (emalone@sd44.ca) if you have any questions.

Tips For Success:

Start early!  Begin working on the application letter early to allow enough time for writing a quality letter and editing (have someone proofread it for you). You can cut and paste your letter onto the template when you are ready to submit. This is the main component of your application and provides the opportunity for you to highlight your qualifications, future plans, and share details about yourself with the scholarship committee.

Read all instructions again before submitting.

Read the Information Booklet posted on the Scholarship Microsoft Teams under Files.

Use your Student Statement of Activities worksheet from CLC 12 to complete your application, listing the most significant items first. Leadership involvement can also be listed under Extracurricular or Volunteer Activities.
